Can you send different currency through PayPal

Yes, you can send a different currency through PayPal by picking the currency you want at the point where you enter the payment amount. PayPal works out the conversion rate on its own and shows it to you before the money leaves your account.

The payment is made from the Send and Request section, following these steps:

1. Open Send and Request: Click Send & Request in your PayPal account.
2. Add the recipient: Type in the person's name, email address or phone number, then click Next.
3. Set amount and currency: Enter how much you want to send and select the currency the payment should be made in, then click Continue.
4. Pick the payment type: Say whether you are paying for an item or service or sending money to a friend.
5. Review and send: Check the conversion rate and the payment details, then click Send Payment Now.

Sending in another currency usually has a cost. Along with the conversion rate PayPal applies, cross-border fees and currency conversion fees generally come on top, so the total cost is worth reviewing on the confirmation screen before you pay.

On the receiving side, a PayPal user who does not already hold the currency you sent is not blocked from getting the money. PayPal either opens a new balance in that currency for them or converts the funds automatically.

If you want to hold a currency in your own PayPal account, you can add one by going to Wallet, clicking Add a currency and selecting the currency from the list.
