Does Amazon accept PayPal

No, Amazon does not accept PayPal directly, so it will not appear as a payment option at Amazon checkout.

There are two indirect ways shoppers use their balance on Amazon:

  • Debit card linked to the account: A physical or virtual PayPal Debit Card, or the PayPal Business Debit Mastercard, draws money straight from your balance. You add the card number to your Amazon wallet the same way you would add any Mastercard or Visa card.
  • Amazon gift cards: Some third-party retail sites sell digital Amazon gift cards and take PayPal as payment. After buying one, you redeem the code in your Amazon account and use that balance for purchases.

The debit card route works because Amazon treats it as an ordinary card payment rather than a wallet checkout. For gift cards, buy only from a reputable retailer, since the code is what carries the value into your Amazon account.
