Does Stripe work in India

Stripe is available in India, but you can only access it by invitation and not through direct sign-up on their website.

To use Stripe in India, you must request an invite through the Stripe Support for India page. Approval is limited to certain business types, such as registered companies, limited liability partnerships (LLPs), and sole proprietorships. Non-profits and simple partnerships are not eligible. Stripe in India is mainly designed for businesses focused on international payments and export operations.

Stripe allows Indian merchants to accept card payments in over 135 currencies, with settlements in Indian Rupees (INR). However, local payment methods like UPI, net banking, and wallets are generally not supported. Check your business type and payment needs before applying.
