How to get IEC code
An IEC (Import Export Code) is a ten-digit number issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) that every exporter and importer in India must obtain before conducting international trade. You can apply for an IEC code online through the DGFT portal by registering, filling out the application form (ANF 2A), uploading required documents like PAN, Aadhaar, bank certificate, and a photograph, and paying the application fee. The process is fully digital and typically takes 2 to 7 working days for approval once submitted correctly.
After receiving your IEC, you can start exporting and use platforms like Skydo, an RBI-authorised cross-border payments solution, to receive international payments quickly and cost-effectively. Skydo helps Indian exporters and freelancers manage forex collections with competitive rates and transparent pricing.
