How to get payment from PayPal
To get payment from PayPal, open an account, confirm your email, link a bank account or card, then share your details, send a request, or use a PayPal.Me link.
Before anyone can pay you, the account needs a few basics in place:
- Sign up: Register for a PayPal account with your email address.
- Confirm your email: Open the message PayPal sends and click the confirmation link inside it.
- Link a bank account or card: Add a bank account, debit card or credit card so you can move received funds out later.
- Complete KYC in India: Users in India also need to finish identity verification using a PAN card, and PayPal India asks for the identity confirmation that matches your business type.
Once the account is ready, a PayPal overview of receiving money usually comes down to three methods:
- Email or phone number: Give the payer the email address or mobile number tied to your PayPal account, and they enter it on their side to send the money.
- Payment request: Log in, choose Request, pick a contact or type their name, email or phone number, and enter the amount you are asking for.
- PayPal.Me link: Create a personal link from your profile, such as paypal.me/yourname, and share it so friends or clients can pay you in a single click.
The payment arrives in your PayPal account, and the bank account or card you linked during setup is where you later withdraw it.
