How to transfer using PayPal

To transfer using PayPal, log in on the app or website, open Send and Request to pay someone, or tap your balance and choose Transfer to move money to your bank.

PayPal lets you pay a person using their name, username, email address or phone number. Reviewing your balance in the PayPal overview before sending can help you confirm the payment amount is covered.

1. Open Send and Request: Go to this section in the PayPal app or on paypal.com.
2. Add the recipient: Enter their name, username, email or phone number.
3. Enter the amount: Type the value and select the currency.
4. Pick the payment type: Choose Friends and Family or Goods and Services, depending on what the payment is for.
5. Review and send: Check the details, then tap Send.

To move your PayPal balance to a bank account in the app:

1. Tap your balance: Select your PayPal balance on the home screen.
2. Choose Transfer: Tap Transfer, then Transfer to bank.
3. Select the speed: Instant transfers carry a fee, while standard transfers are free and take 1 to 3 days.
4. Confirm: Tap Transfer Now to complete the withdrawal.

PayPal India works differently. Manual withdrawals are not currently offered there, and PayPal automatically moves funds to the preferred bank account linked to the profile because of local regulations.
