How do I choose the right business type during signup?

Choose the legal structure you actually operate under, not the option that seems easiest to verify. A freelancer working personally, a sole proprietorship, a partnership and a company are not interchangeable application identities. Use your registration records and PAN to identify the applicant.

If you have recently formed a new entity, decide which entity will provide the service or goods before applying. If the options shown do not match your records, ask support how to proceed. Do not enter a director’s personal PAN as the company PAN or choose a partnership for an LLP simply because the names sound similar.
