What should I check if the InstaLink amount or fee looks wrong before payment?

Compare the payment request with the amount agreed with your client before they authorise it. ACH Debit InstaLinks cost 2% per transaction, with a minimum charge of USD 9. Confirm the total shown before authorising payment. This is a different fee schedule from a standard bank transfer.

Check whether any fee is being added to the client's total or deducted from what you receive. If the displayed amount is unclear, pause the payment and ask Support to confirm the request amount, fee allocation and any tax. Do not tell the client to pay a smaller amount through the same link: partial payments are not supported. Do not promise that a shared link can be edited; have Support confirm the safe next step.
