How to apply for Wise card
To apply for a Wise card, sign up for a Wise account, verify your details, then order the card from the Cards tab in the Wise app or website.
The card is ordered from inside your account, so you need an account in place before you can request one. The Wise overview of the process follows these steps.
- Create an account: Sign up for a free Wise account, open your first currency and confirm personal details such as your name and address.
- Add money or pay the fee: Depending on where you live, Wise may ask you to top up your balance or pay a small one-time fee for the card.
- Order the card: Open the Cards tab in the app or on the website and choose the option to order a physical card.
- Enter card details: Add the address the card should be delivered to, decide how your name will be printed on it and set a 4-digit PIN.
- Use a digital card meanwhile: Generate a digital card in the Wise app so you can spend online straight away while the physical card is on its way.
Once the card is active, the Wise app lets you freeze and unfreeze it instantly and receive notifications about card activity.
