How to apply for IEC code

You can apply for an IEC code online through the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) portal by submitting the required documents and paying the application fee.

  • Documents required: You will need a PAN Card, identity proof (such as Aadhaar, Voter ID, or Passport), address proof, bank details, and a digital photograph.
  • Registration: Register on the DGFT website using a valid email and mobile number, then log in and select the "Apply for IEC" option.
  • Application form: Fill out the ANF 2A form and upload the scanned documents as specified.
  • Fee payment: Pay the application fee of ₹500 and submit your application using Aadhaar OTP or a digital signature.
  • Issuance: The electronic IEC is usually issued within 1 to 3 working days. You must update your profile annually to keep the IEC active.
