How to create Wise account
To create a Wise account, sign up on the Wise registration page at wise.com/register or through the official Wise mobile app, then verify your details and identity.
The Wise app is available on the iOS App Store and Google Play Store. The sign-up flow is similar on the website and the app:
- Register: Select Register and enter your email address. You can also sign up with a Google, Facebook or Apple account.
- Choose the account type: Pick a Personal account for everyday spending and personal transfers, or a Business account if you are a freelancer or a company.
- Select your country: Enter the country where you live most of the time. It should match the country on your official government documents.
- Verify your phone number: Add your phone number, then type in the 6-digit code Wise sends you by text message.
- Set a password: Create a strong password to protect the account.
- Add personal details: Enter your legal name, date of birth and home address.
- Verify your identity: Upload a photo of a government-issued ID, such as a passport or driving licence, and take a selfie if Wise asks for one, so that the full range of account features becomes available.
