How to make PayPal id
To make a PayPal ID, sign up on the PayPal website or mobile app, choose a Personal or Business account, and verify your email address and phone number.
Your PayPal ID is the account you register with your email address and phone number. PayPal offers two account types:
- Personal account: Suited to shopping online, sending money to family and friends, or splitting bills.
- Business account: Designed for freelancers, merchants and companies that accept payments from customers.
- Start sign-up: Go to the PayPal website or open the official app and select Sign Up.
- Pick an account type: Choose Personal or Business and continue.
- Add contact details: Enter an email address you use and your mobile number.
- Verify your phone: Type in the one-time code PayPal sends to your phone by SMS.
- Set a password: Create a strong password that mixes letters, numbers and symbols.
- Enter personal details: Provide your legal name, date of birth and home address, making sure they match your government-issued ID.
- Accept the terms: Agree to the user agreement and privacy statement to create the account.
Once the account exists, you can link a debit card, credit card or bank account to send and receive money. This step can be skipped during sign-up and completed later from your account dashboard.
PayPal also emails a confirmation link after sign-up. Clicking it verifies your email address and removes the initial transaction limits on a new account.
