How to open PayPal account
You can open a PayPal account by signing up on the PayPal website or in the official mobile app, choosing a personal or business account, and verifying your phone number and email.

- Personal account: Suited to online shopping, sending money to family and splitting bills.
- Business account: Designed for freelancers, merchants and companies that accept payments from customers.
- Start sign up: Go to the PayPal website or open the app and select Sign Up.
- Pick a type: Choose Personal or Business, then select Get Started.
- Add contact details: Enter an active email address and your mobile phone number.
- Confirm your phone: Type in the one-time verification code PayPal sends to your number by SMS.
- Set a password: Create a secure password that combines letters, numbers and symbols.
- Enter personal details: Provide your legal name, date of birth and residential address so they match your government-issued ID.
- Accept the terms: Agree to the user agreement and privacy statement, then select Agree and Create Account.
