How to register in PayPal
To register in PayPal, click Sign Up on the PayPal website or mobile app, pick a Personal or Business account, then enter your details and verify your phone number.
The account type depends on how you plan to use it.
- Personal account: Suited to online shopping, sending money to family and splitting bills.
- Business account: Meant for freelancers, merchants and companies that accept payments from customers.
The sign-up flow follows the same steps on the website and in the app.
- Start sign-up: Open the official website or app and click Sign Up.
- Pick the account type: Choose Personal or Business and click Get Started.
- Add contact details: Enter an active email address and mobile phone number.
- Verify your phone: Type in the one-time code (OTP) sent to you by SMS.
- Set a password: Create a password that mixes letters, numbers and symbols.
- Enter personal details: Give your legal name, date of birth and home address exactly as they appear on your government-issued ID.
- Accept the terms: Agree to the user agreement and privacy statement, then click Agree and Create Account.

- Payment method: Add a debit card, credit card or bank account to send and receive money, or skip this during sign-up and add one later from your dashboard.
