What should I do if PAN verification fails during signup?

Check that you entered the correct PAN: freelancers and sole proprietors can use a personal PAN; companies, partnerships and HUFs should use their business PAN. Compare the characters carefully with the original record.

If the PAN is correct but verification still fails, do not keep changing the business identity to force a match. Contact support with the step where it failed and the error shown, using a screenshot that hides unnecessary identity data. If the underlying PAN record is wrong, ask what must be corrected before continuing. Passing a later step will not make an incorrect PAN acceptable.
