How do I record a partial payment against an invoice?
Compare the amount received with the original invoice in its own currency. Record the receipt separately from the balance still owed, and keep the bank or payment evidence for that instalment. Do not mark the whole invoice as paid simply because one payment has arrived.
If more payments arrive later, keep each receipt traceable to the same invoice so your accountant can explain the total received and the remaining amount. Ask Skydo support how your account handles partial-payment allocation and balance updates before changing the status manually. If the shortfall is an agreed discount rather than an instalment, keep that agreement and ask your accountant how it should be recorded.
Ask the client whether the short amount was intentional or due to a bank deduction. If another payment is due, agree the balance first and keep a separate receipt reference; do not assume one fee covers both receipts.
